Apricot Harvest Calendar in Italy
Italy cultivates a large variety of apricots, which are harvested from May to August, with the peak harvest period in June. The earliest harvest starts with the Pricia, Tsunami, Primando, Lunafull, Spring Blush, and Primaya varieties in May. The next batch of varieties including the Ninfa, Primaris, Primus, Rubista, Palummella, San Castrese, Soledane, Bora, Pinkcot, Orange Prima, Priabel, Orange Rubis, Medaga, Bella Dimola, Boreale, Goldrich, Mediabell, and Big Red varieties are harvested in June. The Palummella variety is also harvested in June, continuing until July.
July is the harvest month for the Farely, Faralia, Bergeron, Portici, Pieve, and Stella varieties, and the start of the harvest for the Fartoli apricot which is harvested until August. The last batch of harvest is conducted in August with the Farcio, Fardao, Farius, Farlis, Farhial, Farbaly varieties. Italy is the 2nd largest exporter of apricots, with a total export value of USD 65.1 million in 2019.
